You have to stop beating yourself up and telling yourself that you cannot get a sale. You wake up in the morning all excited to get out of bed and get to the office, your manager hypes you up and now your on your way to the field to get that sale. Today is the day, right ?
First door you burn through because you come up with an excuse like you need to get into the mode. Then the next few doors you say your still warming up. If you have been caught in this trap, trust me when i say this… Its the reason you are failing as a knocker to hit your goals. Most sales reps talk themselves out of why they can’t just go out and do it. What ? did you hear what Paul just said ! Yes, freaking go out and just do it.
My best advise to every knocker is, there is no secret recipe to closing a sale ! Its common sense. Go out, disregard all the rejection, get stronger at every door and carry double the energy you did on each and every door. If you push through the day like this, what will happen is your going to find yourself burning doors but at least coming up with random sales here and there. My goal from this blog and my Door To Door Mastery program is not to just keep you at that level but to explode your sales past every other sales person in your office. In order to conquer this business of selling door to door, you need to have the following to start:
- A plan of action: Mine was to save $10,000 in a bank account so that i can work with a clear mind. Some may get to this level in a month, while others it may take 6 months. Regardless when you set this goal you then have a reason to knock on that next door. Knocking on doors just to pay the bills just won’t cut it.
- Be the strongest Mentally: If every day you go out and you do nothing but tell yourself your the best, and you don’t let yourself get discouraged every time you don’t get a sale, your going to find yourself closing your random 1 sale a day. This takes believing. If you chose to do door to door sales, you surely have the courage to make it happen.
- Stop Excuses: We tend to come up with turf excuses. I would have got a sale if i were here or there. Look bottom line is, if you were a lion in a jungle who was hungry and there was only 1 rabbit left, who cares that the odds of you finding that rabbit are slim, don’t give up till you find that rabbit, then think tomorrow how you can increase your odds of finding more. Take it one day at a time.
- Live healthy: So many knockers d2d sales people live messed up lives. The one way to really excel your sales is to live a healthy life. When you take care of the multimillion dollar machine that you are, your sales should follow with a little time.
I encourage you to do what i mentioned above. Don’t just try it out for a day, IT WONT WORK ! it needs to be a habit of your daily rituals. If you were to follow the above and do this for 1 whole month ! Log your results on how many more sales you got following just this simple tweak !
